Heck, it has worked since 1995. It has been a long embedded thorn, it is nothing new.

Bucky Wagner was the last AD we had that signed deals bringing teams like JMU, WKU, EKU, FAMU into Paulson when we were independent and had zero leverage and zero guaranteed home games. That was a different era though, and those teams were solid I-AA programs.

I guess we could have gone 4-8 in 2013 though, that would have probably helped in getting our phone to ring back with some returned calls :)

Nick Sabin has stated he wouldn't mind playing more instate schools such as Troy... But it's not his decision.

Jay Jacobs has gone on the record as saying as long as he's AD, they'll never play Troy...so, there's that.

I'm excited about this game. Will be a tough one to win, but Auburn had a great atmosphere for a great weekend.

Well, it wasn't meant to be that sarcastic or a dig. I mean, one of those 4 wins you booked was against us and it wasn't even close.

I can tell you one thing for sure, in our history we've had a much easier time scheduling games from 2007-2009 for some reason, and the only logical, rational reason is because other teams viewed us in a different light during that time frame, because we pretty much were a shell of what we had been and what we seem to be now.

When I was little and asked my mom why, she'd say, "Because I said so..." I'm thinking it's a similar explanation.

I get what they are saying about too much to lose, but UF lost to GS and UF is still getting the highly touted recruits. A win for Troy against either of the two would give Troy a boost against G5 peers I would think, but I don't think it would be earth shattering for UA and AU.

I hope Auburn beats them 1000 to nothing.
