The scenarios are just too complicated for me
for us to finish 8th and make the tourney. Seems like we have to win 2 out of 3, at ASU, to have a shot although that wouldn't guarantee anything. We have the tie-breaker against Texas State, but lose the tie-breaker against everyone else if we lose the series to ASU. Coach makes a believer of me, at everyone luncheon, but our chances to win the series at ASU look slim with us having lost 11 of 12 going in. ASU is coming off a stunning sweep of Texas State at San Marcos.
These are the current standings (bottom half with AppSt already out of it):

6. UTA 13-14

7. Texas State 12-15

8. ULM 12-15

9. UALR 11-15

10. ASU 10-16

I guess the only bright side is not going to the tourney will save the department some money. Then Coach Curry can focus on the future.

One thing is pretty much for sure. If we don't win the ASU series next weekend, we are toast. If we do, and end up in a three way tie with ULM and Texas State, I have no idea how we fare as all three teams are 3-3 against the other two. We win a two way tie with Texas State and lose a two way tie against ULM.

But given our complete collapse down the stretch, I don't hold out much hope for making the SBC tourney.

UALR are a combined 3-6 against Monroe, Texas State & UT-Arlington.

If it's a four way tie with UTA involved, were probably done.

RE: The scenarios are just too complicated for me
We're both playing for the same thing...the good news is that there are no tiebreaks in play with ULM, UTA, or Texas State for anyone because we've each lost a game to rain.

Here's the basics:

UALR: Win one of three AND ULL Sweeps ULM, AND UTA Sweeps Texas State

Win two of three AND ULM Loses Two OR Texas State Loses TWO, OR UTA Gets Swept by Texas State

Win Three of Three (No need for help here, would pass Texas State/UTA series loser automatically)

ASU:
Win Two of Three AND ULM Gets Swept OR Texas State gets swept
Win Three of Three AND ULM loses twice OR Texas State loses Twice OR UTA Gets swept

UTA, ULM, and Texas State have and will play 1 more game than the rest of us barring rain otus this weekend...the only tiebreaker in play comes into play if We beat you guys Two of Three. We would own that tiebreaker...Meaning you need a pratical miracle to get in. In fact, both of us would need a miracle to get in in such a scenario. We'd need to take two from you guys and hope either ULM or Texas State gets swept.

Side note, there is only ONE Way that both of us get into the tourney. ASU wins two of three. ULL Sweeps ULM AND UTA sweeps Texas State. In that case, ULM and Texas State would be out and we would be 7 and you guys 8. In no other case can the both of us get in. The loser of the series is eliminated in all but that one circumstance.

I don't think we will be involved in any three way ties as we played one less game than the other teams. We will either get in or out by a half game in the standings
