Rice@FLAtlantic-Saturday Game Thread
High noon (CT) Showdown today televised on ASN.
In this battle for conference control, one of us (even better - us) are actually in first place this morning, thanks to MTSU loss last night.
Conference race:
Magic Number to clinch tie or better with MTSU:5 (was 7)
Magic Number to clinch tie or better with FAU:4 (was 6)
Magic Number to clinch tiebreaker for #1 seed against FAU:1

Keys to victory for Rice include pitching, hitting, fielding, and base running. If we can excel at all four of these we may be able to finally hold an opponent to negative runs.

Nice video.

Ever thought the start of "Funkytown" was ripped off of "Last train to London"?

Looking at D1baseball.com, MTSU & UTSA are now playing a double-header today (in anticipation of bad weather tomorrow) - so let's hope for a UTSA sweep with a Rice win, and knock that 5 down to 2!

Again, I'm not really concerned with MTSU at this point. I fully expect UTSA to take one more this weekend, and MTSU faces red hot USM (7 straight wins and counting) next weekend. No need to scoreboard watch-- just take care of our own business. Let's put the dagger in FAU, just as we did to a then red hot and nationally ranked FIU squad last year in Miami. Just win, baby!

I prefer JP's distortion of the description to the FAU announcer's distortion of the truth.

It seems like I will see the game today through JP's eyes...

No, especially since I'm pretty sure Funkytown predates LTTL (78 vs 79, going by memory).
They are both supah funky tho, fo sho.

I haven't got the video to work, yet. Perhaps I don't need it today. Rice hitters doing quite well with me blind.

Aha! Then "Funkytown" IS London.
I'd always thought it was written about Poughkeepsie.
