What would it take to make the national tournament? Winning the series vs Tulane and then how deep in the AAC tourney?

Considering that we now have 35 wins, including an impressive number against Top 50 RPI teams, I am optimistic that a deep run in the conference tournament, such as we had last year would be sufficient. I am chomping at the bit for a trip to watch them play in the regionals.

Our pitching was impressive last night. Gunn (now 6-1) pitched the entire game, allowing our "3 amigos" relievers a bit of rest. I don't recall him walking a single batter. This team is talented and fun to watch.

I would guess four more wins in any manner would seal it. It is a straight double elimination tourney...could win it going 4-0, in which case it would not matter what else happens, but will stick with four more wins, five without any question.

This will probably be the best opportunity we will have for a while. 7 out of our 8 seniors are major contributors.

Yep....4 wins is probably what we need. A sweep of Tulane probably gets us back in the projected field (at Tulane's expense) going into the AAC tourney.

CBSSN just stated during the UCF/USF game that they will be in Clearwater starting Tuesday to air the tournament.

Losing series to the bottom two teams late in season really really hurt. Only lost 4 series all year this year and three have been against the bottom two teams in conference.
