Who Will Lead The SBC In Passing?
Some interesting candidates in my opinion. For the first time in a long time the league as a whole had some very powerful looking rushing numbers. For the first time in a while, the leagues top teams made their way through the SBC pounding the rock way more than in years past. It may be the beginning of a shift in philosophy.
I don't expect Troy to lead in year one under Brown, but they should be in the conversation. GSU's QB should post big numbers along with Idaho and Arkansas State, who looks to be the leagues top offense overall. Louisiana Monroe had a big year last year but may have catered their offense around their senior QB. Last year aside they have never lead in passing.
GSU
NMSU
Idaho
Arkansas State
Troy
ULM
I've chosen those for the poll as the represent the teams with the best chance to lead the league in passing.

RE: Who Will Lead The SBC In Passing?
Brooks Haacke will be the most accurate passer in the Sunbelt.
This is my prediction. Whether he is the overall passing leader depends on how the replacement for Harris turns out. Mcguire will rush for 1500 yards regardless, so how much Haacke has to pass will determine if he leads the league in passing yards.
And since you did not even include the Cajuns in the poll, some members of the conference may be surprised to meet Mr. Haacke.

USA with Cody Clements and OC Bryant Vincent will have good chance of being in the conversation. The biggest obstacle is that the running attack at USA will probably be their best ever.

I'm surprised you included Troy and ULM and left out La and App ST.

RE: Who Will Lead The SBC In Passing?
Lamb was freshman of the yr at qb, and Apps loaded at wr, the only reason we will probably finish in the middle of the pack in passing is our running game is very, very good. If we really wanted to throw the ball, Lamb would have a great shot to finish in the top 2 or 3 in passing. Looking at the list, I would give the edge to the Georgia State qb, he is a good qb, playing in an offense that throws the ball 30 plus times a game, playing half their games indoors on a fast track, can make the same argument for the Idaho qb, but I'll give the slight edge to the GS qb.

I'd give the advantage to GaSt, but I voted other for the 5/11 odds. USA and App St could be contenders, and Texas St too if not for the conservative play. Really, the only one I'd count out is GS due to their style of offense.

It's not just our conservative play . . . Fran no like "Airing it out."
He's more of a "3 yards and a cloud of dust, with a dink and a dunk mixed in" kinda guy . . . .

Troy will even if they have a mediocre QB by G5 standards. Most air raid offenses pick up yards. It's what they do in the red zone that makes the difference between 25 points a game and 35.

Being second to last in passing above only Georgia Southern and having to replace all-world QB Terrance Broadway isn't exactly a ringing endorsement for inclusion on this list.

ULM lead the league in passing, and Troy hired an air raid coach who ranked 3rd in the country last time at Troy. ULL was 10th in passing, App was 7th. They are good teams that pound the rock better than they sling it.

23 votes and not a single vote for the incumbent leading passing team, Louisiana-Monroe.

I think ULM will digress some this year... Even after a 4-8 season last year. I don't see it being any better with the schedule they got. Passing yards they will likely be high on the list tho.
Troy might not top the list but u wouldn't be surprised to see us do it. It's the TF system after all.

It will not be App, we may not finish in the half for passing, but should be top four for offense.
GA St. Is the best bet, they will have to pass for offense and will likely be behind in most games. Plus playing auNCC that gives up 600 yards a game doesn't hurt.

I'll give the edge to GA State here I think their QB will continue to be a prolific passer this year and if he can clean up some interceptions they might win one.

We will return the first team SBC QB and every WR from last year and McKissic will be healthier again. Really excited about Blake Mack an incoming FR Omar Bayless as well to compliment Paschal and Houston.
No telling who will lead but ASU will be in the mix.

One thing I will guarantee .... whatever team has the leading passer in the Sun Belt will not be the champion.
And most likely won't be a bowl team, or have a winning record for that matter.
