Per a statement relayed from Jimmy Filler at the May 7th ATF meeting , Justin Craft said that the Football Foundation would have "a very exciting announcement" at a press conference on May 15th, the same day the CSS report comes back.

The announcement will come from Jimmy Filler & Harold Ripps. Even Justin Craft said he did not know what the announcement would be, but when Jimmy Filler says something, you can count on it.

I know Jimmy Filler. Who is Harold Ripps?

As far as the problems that seem to crop up in what UFF is doing as far as fundraising etc & UAB itself. Why haven't they tried to turn into a UAB form of CTF? Is that the goal that Justin was talking about in "legal issues"?

Turning it into the green version of the Crimson Tide Foundation opens it to control by Little Bear, Milton's Lawyer, Cullman's Greatest Attorney et al.

Justin's goal is to get the process clear and the wording correct, and then let UAB handle the donations and season ticket sales. FF will not be involved in that end of it at all. That does not mean they won't do fundraising, but this next step will go through UAB. That way they have the bookkeeping done and all donations are tax deductable, etc.

I'm geared up in anticipation of what the announcement will be. When Jimmy Filler speaks, it's important.

Has a scheduled time and place been set for the press conference?

I wonder if it might not be better to announce their $$ number on Thursday. I expect it to be a large amount and it might add pressure to Friday's CSS Release.

I figure these guys have a plan. They may not have shared it with us yet, but they've played their cards pretty well so far.

Oh I trust them, just wondering about the news on Friday. If the report isn't as friendly as we all hope, the huge business $$ might be overlooked. A Thursday announcement would give a full day of press. They're a lot smarter than I am though so I'll trust their Friday date.

If Harold and Jimmy decided they wanted to bring back UAB football, they could buy UAB together. (And still have plenty left over for future investments.)

Harold Ripps is also an old advisory of PBJr., which could make this even more interesting.

I'm sure Harold and Jimmy have quite a bit of money, but at an annual budget of $2 Billion, UAB's enterprise value if it were a private company would be in the tens of billions of dollars.

I'd love to hear San announcement of a joint venture between the city and the foundation to build a stadium for high schools and the return of UAB football on property seized by eminent domain from UAB

I knew Ripps has been involved in Birmingham-Southern College for a long time.

I knew Ripps has been involved in Birmingham-Southern College for a long time.

They were once rivals in the dog/horse track business.
