Marshall vs ODU
Heads up for those coming to Huntington in October... there are only two downtown hotels in Huntington. They fill up fast on game day weekends so I wouldn't wait around. There are several hotels within a couple miles of the stadium as well but I would recommend the ones downtown.

Holiday Inn and Suites Huntington Civic Arena

Pullman Plaza Hotel

I recommend the Holiday Inn. Its a newer property and has been recently updated. There is a Super 8, Ramada Limited, TownePlace Suites Huntington and Hampton Inn near the Hal Greer Blvd Exit of I-64 about a mile or so from the stadium.

Be sure to check out Pullman Square and the Marshall Hall of Fame Cafe downtown and Fat Patty's near the stadium.

For those considering white water rafting here is a link to ACE Adventure Resort.

Muteke... How's the parking situation there for visitors? Especially for RV's. I'll be heading that way. I have family just on the other side of the River.

I'm considering rafting the Gauley on Friday (I make annual trips to Ace), and then driving up to Huntington Saturday morning.

I've got some kin in Barboursville but may need to book a hotel. Can't wait to see what time kickoff will be.

That could be a fun trip. Perhaps we throw a group together. I've been to ACE a number of times, using doing the Classic Overnight. Joe Thacker is my choice of guide. Always an awesome time!

That would be sweet. I'd definitely be up for that and I know a few others that would also do it.

I'm definitely in if I can get the wife's approval. I think it would be one fun roadtrip!

Depending on when the game is, I'm driving from Penn State to Marshall. After the game I'm going to Lexington to visit a friend, which I think is further west, then Sunday heading back to PA.

I'm not missing this game!

This sounds great. I have been on the Upper Gulley 4 times during Oct. Normally do the Upper on Sat. Camp out on the river and then the lower on Sunday. What a rush!
I have always used Class VI as guides.

RV parking is first come first serve in lots behind the Robert C Byrd Biotech Building on 3rd ave. The RV lot is approximately 2 blocks west of the stadium. I would suggest calling the MU ticket office (1-800-THE-HERD) and ask them to email you a parking map. May even be able to reserve a spot.

The stadium is located in an urban area. Most of the immediate lots around the stadium are reserved. There is parking mixed in on university parking lots and on property of surrounding businesses. Usually $5-$15 to park.

If you plan to park and walk around pre-game, check out the stadium's West Lot. It's the stadium's main parking lots. Plenty of hospitality there.

There are several hotels in Barboursville near the mall with easy access to I-64. Less than 10 miles from there to the stadium area. There is a nice Holiday Inn in Barboursville. Just built within the last few years.

As far as kickoff times, I would guess either noon or the 3-4PM time frame.

Lexington KY is 135 miles west of Huntington. Straight shot on I-64.

Here is a 3D seating chart. Visitors sections are 101 and 103. You can click on the section and see a shot of what your view would be.

Thanks for the Information Muteke.

No problem. Charleston is about 45 miles east of Huntington. Easy drive into town.

If you get the chance, be sure to check out the memorial fountain on campus and the memorial and grave site at Spring Hill Cemetery.

The Pullman Square area downtown is where all the restaraunts are at. One block over on 4th avenue are several locations where scenes from We Are Marshall were filmed- Keith Albee Theater and the Frederick.

RE: Marshall vs ODU
For those getting in town on Friday, the Marshall Hall of Fame Cafe has a great Happy Hour special from 4-7PM. It's usually pretty packed. 1/2 off appetizers and drinks.

It's located across the street from the Holiday Inn and a block from Pullman Plaza Hotel. Roosters in Pullman Square is also a great place to get some wings and watch the Fri night games.

If you're looking for a chill college bar/sports bar type atmosphere later, check out The Union Bar and Grill on 4th avenue about 3-4 blocks from the hotels. Great atmosphere.

No designated visitor parking. There are shuttles from the hotels and Pullman Square area downtown but not from the campus area parking lots that I am aware of. Most lots are within 1-3 blocks of the stadium.

There are designated handicap drop off areas at the stadium if you need something like that.

If you do drive and park, be aware the area around the stadium is very congested prior to and immediately after the game. Pay lots fill up quickly.
