Were you in the Firm movie?

Yep, but not that scene...I went to Lausanne and they filmed a couple of scenes there...I'm one of the kids on the playground when Gene Hackman is talking to jeanne tripplehorn

There's lots of land around Southland but they need to clean up the trash the occupies the front of the place. Do what it takes and buy that crap and bulldoze it and redevelop it into a couple of pad restaurants And a better hotel Instead of that dump of one there. One of those retro 24hr Denny's, anything but a gas station turned boat dealer. I would then get rid of the truck yard behind the track and build a hotel on the NW corner it would round the third turn. The Rooms would look west on the rear for sunsets and the trackside rooms would have the Memphis Skyline in the distance. The hotel would be like the one in Durant OK That I pass going to Dallas:

It has decent pool.

They can change the lighting too.

With the shift of Mid South CC to a branch of Ark St. U and improvements through the Main to Main grant/bike paths, hopefully those three changes will portend better things to come. What's essential is a leadership that is not reliant on passive growth. I live part time in Tucson, and that thinking is lazy leadership that has led to loss of several quality of life amenities.

With vision, West Memphis could be something more than a strip mall of a suburb.

Memphis, particularly downtown, needs that pull west to recenter the downtown in the region.
