These are "wanna be" thugs!

They have zero street credit!

A thug is usually a totally violent sociopath, not just a clown that dresses a certain way and puts on a tough guy act. There are women thugs as much as men too (since they can't overpower men, they use weapons).

Dumb thread. Any street gang, regardless of race/color/national origin/sexual orientation with the intent of using violence and committing crimes for "the gang" are thugs.

Thugs also tend to be the low men on the totem pole when it comes to gangs, organized crime or even violent criminals who act alone. Martha Stewart was a white collar criminal. She did not maim, beat or kill anyone for the money she got via insider trading.

Nary one. I don't recognize some of them, but I doubt they terrorize people and are violent criminals.

she is the closest thing...but not a thug. No physical threats to anyone...no throwing bricks...no burning of other people shiite. No flipping cars... no busting in a store to steal shiite.

Technically speaking they were murderers. Therefore, for those of you that are going to hide between it's original definition should at least be consistant and only use it to refer to murderers.

So how do you explain the term being used to discribe rioters who just happen to be black?
