SCOTUS rejects challenge to New Jersey 'gay conversion therapy' ban
The U.S. Supreme Court on Monday left intact New Jersey's ban on counseling intended to change the sexual orientation of gay children.

The court declined to hear a challenge to the law, meaning that a September ruling by the 3rd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals upholding the ban is the final word on the matter.

The appeals court said the ban, which Republican Governor Chris Christie signed into law in August 2013, did not violate the free speech or religious rights of counselors offering "gay conversion therapy" to convert homosexual minors into heterosexuals.

Correct. But if you want to go from straight to gay, there are many options for assistance available.

Not within the accepted medical establishment, but don't let facts get in the way.

You don't have to convince me that trying to change sexuality through therapy is useless, but I still don't like this.

Would it be okay to ban parents from using alternative medicine or homeopathy or things like that for children when their lives aren't threatened?

Funny how Christie speaks out in favor of a right for vaccine refusal but puts a stop to this. At least gay conversion therapy won't allow diseases we don't even think about anymore to spread.

I wouldn't want anyone to be forced to undergo such a procedure for similar reasons.

Parents have the right to determine the care of their children. This has been ruled by the SCOTUS as covered under the 9th amendment. Our courts are now just making schit up. Total incompetence.

Perhaps some "Clockwork Orange" therapy would work.

Don't understand how you can have facilitators in elementary schools inappropriately coaxing children to explore any and every strange thought that might pass through their developing minds, but you can't attempt to undo the damage of these twisted fcks.

Parents losing more and more rights every day. And people wonder why we are in a marriage and birthrate crisis.
