After I saw the public reaction (and many on this board), I began to agree that thug is commonly used for any black person that makes you uncomfortable.

BTW... I'm a big Fan of Cabrera since His Rookie Days with the "Old" Florida Marlins, 2 time World Series Champions ! He was a big part in that 2nd one.

Sherman was fired up right after he made that play to get them into the Super Bowl! I was happy for him.

I heard that Cabrera is a big alcoholic. I'm not sure how he does that and hits over .300 but more power to hit. I'm glad that he's on the Tigers.

So were Mantle and Ruth ! Cabrera will easily be HOF as long as Steroids are out of the picture.

The word has been around since long before the gang banger types it is often used to describe today. It has been used to describe Mafia types that would strong arm the local populace. It's also been used in connection with union types that would bully people to get what they wanted.

It has historically been used to describe behavior - and the black commentator in the video used the term to describe the jacka$$'s behavior in McDonalds and HE used the term appropriately.

My grandfather - a black man in his 70s who dealt with REAL racism - uses the word thug as he feels it is appropriate. He's used it a decent bit over the last year to describe a lot of kids in our society...
