Yep RepubliCONS are all about "supporting the troops" except when it actually costs something to support the troops. They'd rather support predatory lenders than the troops. In the pockets of billionaires, you betcha!

Seems like a problem of who was elected, rather than the beliefs of those that elected them. Can't really point fingers at general population.
