NCAA Softball Regionals
UL is hosting with the big names being Mississippi State and Baylor. This is a tough region, but MSU is very beatable (we beat 'em) and I think the Cajuns have already beaten Baylor twice.

USA is at Auburn and playing UTC in the first round. Auburn will be really tough, with former Jag Haley Fagan having a great year for the Tigers. That should give us a little extra incentive.

Good luck to Louisiana and South Alabama. I was hoping the Belt could get Ga. State in too but it didn't happen.

After looking up the schedule, the Cajuns did beat them twice. Run ruled them one time.

Advantage: Cajuns.

I hate that the Auburn regional is matched up with the Lafayette regional. If USA were to somehow win the Auburn regional (a tall task indeed), then we might face Louisiana Lafayette, again.

RE: NCAA Softball Regionals
It looks like they didn't want the possibility of 2 Sun Belt teams in the WCWS and after looking at the Lafayette Regional which they said was possibly the toughest Regional, it will be a tough road back to the WCWS.

I like that one of them picked Lamson Park in Lafayette as the place with the best Home Field Advantage and the other one picked Cajuns Lexie Elkins as the Breakout player. So out the 3 categories they were picking (Home Field Advantage, Breakout Player, and The Darkhorse team) the Cajuns were mentioned in the first 2.

If a top 8 seed loses its regional, how do they decide who hosts the super regional?

Women's seeds 1-16. If Both hosts lose...than it gets bid out.

Both hosts losing almost never happens.

I was thinking the same thing. If South Alabama and UL should win their Regionals, where would the Super Regional be played. I would guess Lafayette since we are a National seed, just not a Top 8 National seed.

That would be so awesome to have a rematch with the Jags in a Super Regional with a trip to the WCWS on the line.

If the matching seed wins, then they host. 1-16, 2-15, etc.

Georgia State did not have a good overall resume. RPI ranking of 42 and 1-15 versus RPI teams ranked 1-50. Their lone win was against #40 Chattanooga.
