Same in Portage. House shook, dog barking, frames rattling, neighbors all went outside.

I was surprised by the audible part. Felt some like an impact, then fairly loud audible stuff, I actually thought a garbage truck or similar was coming down the street, went and looked.

Last time, it was more just swaying. This time something was grinding and making noise.

We're on a flight path for planes coming into Kalamazoo. I thought a plane crashing.

It happens in Michigan now and then. We had one a decade ago in Detroit, as I recall. Not like the 7.2 aftershock I went through in Mito, Japan 4 years ago, though. It was 2 weeks after their Quake/Tsunami.

We had one in DC in 2011. The big problem is it happens so rarely, no one knows what to do: evacuate or stay in place. It's scary.

In Galesburg where it was centered there is fracking going on. But NPR just came out with a report that they discovered a small fault line in and around kalamazoo.
