RE: UAB has a new AD
So, is the hiring of Mark Ingram a positive sign for the return of an FB program at UAB or just a precursor to the BB team and Olympic sports hunting for another conference to call home?

UAB hired a guy that just happens to have the same name as Alabama's only Heisman Trophy winner?

Why did the image of this guy suddenly pop into my headbone when thinking of this job?

Makes perfect sense, Temple just cut back programs as well.

We're not the only school in the country to cut programs. We had well above the minimum.

I think it made sense for Temple to cut just like it makes sense for UCF not to add any. Just simply stating it makes sense for UAB to hire some one who has already been through cutting programs. Once they killed FB, it only makes sense to cut some women's programs as well. It is highly unlikely UAB is done with the trimming knife.

Two women's sports (bowling and rifle) were killed at the same time as football. Men's Cross Country has been added to maintain minimums for Division I membership.
