At least that is 22,000 more folks who now have the ability to watch some AAC baseball games on their tv or mobile devices than before (I personally don't like the idea of streaming through a pc or tablet). Have to start somewhere.
UCSB would be smart to elevate their school to Big Time Lacrosse...look at Albany. Tons of Lacrosse talent in SoCal...you could get the NE teams to visit in Jan-Mar and have an awesome schedule.
We already have a venue in place for a D1 program. But who has men's lacrosse out west? From the Rockies to the west coast there is Air Force, Denver University and... that might be it as far as I know.
This was taken during the 2010 men's soccer Final Four which we hosted (official attendance for the Akron-Louisville finale was 9,672). We've led the nation in attendance the past several years. I don't believe lacrosse would draw well, though.

He wasn't replying to the OP.
It's not all that surprising that the AAC has become a pretty strong baseball league. Since realignment (read, "raiding by P5 conferences"), the AAC has become a much more southern conference than it used to be as the Big East, with new schools from traditional baseball-power states such as North Carolina, Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, and Florida.
What will ultimately limit the rise of AAC baseball is fan indifference. Last year's AAC tournament in St. Pete, Florida drew more janitors in the stands than fans, and the AAC's top attendance team, ECU, was #28 nationally in average attendance.

I think the AAC has the potential to be a top 3 to 7 baseball conference on a regular basis. The SEC and ACC will almost always rule the roost in baseball though.

The AACwil pass up theACC in the next two years in baseball. The ACC is number two now to the SEC number one. The AAC is number three. Houston,Tulane,South Florida,Central Florida are located were the best baseball players in the nation are located,Texas,Louisiana and Florida with the exception of California. Add to the mix East Carolina,U Conn,Memphis and Cincinatti all with quickly growing baseball programs with great facilities. Also add to the AAC mix the new CBS Sports AAC baseball contract which over the next two years will grow to more games televised and much more national exposure for the AAC and even better recruiting.

So how you gonna pass the ACC when you can't get a team to a super regional?

Yup, the same way the AAC will pass the ACC in football and basketball.

So the old "If we just keep growing and building and trying!" argument? Still never explains how you're going to pass the people that're already there, and are likewise growing and expanding...
