I don't follow boxing but this would be awesome to see in Bartow.

I remember working at Bartow when they had the Olympic trials in '92, I believe they were. Was so excited to see Oscar De La Hoya fight. They announced his fight, I walked back in the tunnel and bought a coke from the machine, got back to the floor roughly 15 seconds after I left and the fight was already over. Knockout. I was like, "WTF!" Still had a good time working that event.

I was going to say I doubt anything like this has happened at Bartow. That must have been great.

Baldwin Auditorium. Already too many punches to the head.

That's great that we landed this event over Vegas, ATL, and Orlando.

maybe we can play Auburn in Baldwin?

Crazy to think that the first American heavyweight to hold one of the titles in nearly a decade may have his first title defense in Birmingham. That's pretty awesome. I really want him to be great, not only because he's from Alabama but because I want boxing in the US to mean more than just Mayweather, especially the heavyweight division. Be awesome if he fought Povetkin but that's not happening in Birmingham. Probably fight an American like Bryant Jennings, which would still be a good fight.

Word is he's fighting Eric Molina. Underwhelming opponent but it should allow Wilder to showcase his skills.
