Here are the games this weekend, with current conference standing indicated (note the ties for #2 and #8). Watch for Louisiana Lafayette to make a charge this weekend with the two teams ahead of it playing each other.

#7 Texas State @ #1 Georgia State
#5 Troy @ #8 Louisiana Monroe
#6 Arkansas Little Rock @ #8 Texas Arlington
#4 Louisiana Lafayette @ #11 Appalachian State

#10 Arkansas State @ Kansas State

Here is what needs to happen for Louisiana to make the move from #4 to #1:

Sweep App State (very likely)
USA only takes 2 of 3 from GA Southern (USA was dominant in their sweep of GaSt, so this is a strong possibility)
Georgia State does not sweep Texas State (who knows; GaSt can take out their frustrations on TxSt, but TxSt is still a solid ball game that can win at least one on the road)

Louisiana and South setting up for next week.

Yeah, I'd like to believe we could take at least 1 on the road at Ga St, but the way we're playing of late, I sure wouldn't bet the Ranch on it . . . .

I apologize for the confusion last week but the Georgia Southern/South Alabama series will be on ESPN3. Tonight's game should be interesting as I believe we have our aces going head to head.

We should expect a low scoring affair, like a 1-0 or 2-1 type game. Which means it'll end up being 11-10 or something lol.

It's very possible they take one. Especially at their house.

I read it as ... it is very likely that UL must sweep Appalachian State to move from #4 to #1. But it is ambiguous as it can be interpreted both ways.

App has the bats to hang around, but that bullpen is awful. Unless their Friday guy gets a ton of run support and is allowed to throw a complete game, It's going to be difficult to take even one.

We need 5 wins in our last 6 to make the tournament with some help out of other teams. You guys may be 5 games ahead, but we play next weekend, so we could make up some significant ground if you have a bad next 2 weeks.

If I didn't have plans with the lady tonight, I'd be all over this game. Sounds like it'll be a good one. Glad that it will be on ESPN3 so all can enjoy.
