Jordan Cunningham, Former Vandy Four-Star WR Recruit, to Transfer to Cincinnati
somebody posted a tweet about this in recruiting indicating he will sit out this year and have 3 to play, but this story mentions the possibility of an exception:

Jordan Cunningham's tenure at Vanderbilt is officially over. The former top recruit will finish his college career playing wide receiver for the University of Cincinnati.

Jordan Cunningham left Vanderbilt in the middle of the 2014 season when he took a leave of absence for personal reasons, leaving an already thin Commodore receiving corps just a bit thinner. On Thursday, he made his departure official when he committed to play the rest of his college career with the University of Cincinnati.

Cunningham was one of Vandy's biggest commits when he joined the program in 2013. ESPN rated him as the #1 player in James Franklin's final recruiting class in Nashville. He had 19 receptions for 150 yards in his 11 games wearing black and gold.

He broke the news this afternoon on his Instagram feed:

Cunningham will now have the opportunity to catch passes from another high-profile Vanderbilt recruiting target. Gunner Kiel was linked to the Commodores in 2011 and 2012 as he shifted his commitment from Indiana to LSU to Notre Dame. He landed with the Bearcats and had a solid debut season last year, throwing for over 3,200 yards and 31 touchdowns. For comparison, four Vandy quarterbacks combined for 2,149 yards in 2014.

The Bearcats should give the talented wideout a soft landing spot, and depending on how the NCAA rules he may be eligible to play for Cincinnati this fall. Cunningham appeared in only two games last season, but transfer code stipulates that he'll have to sit out a full season before suiting up unless an exception is made.

We don't desperately need him this year, but I'd still take it if we can get the exception. Either way, he should have a big role in 2016 after we lose almost all our WRs.

It would be better to have him sit a year and learn the system and have three years left starting in 2016.

Great pick up. He should be the #1 target after this season.

Good get

He needs to sit this year. He will get a lot more playing time year after next and be more valuable to us in the long run. We are LOADED at WR this coming season.

Totally agree. Him sitting a year is actually a good thing for UC long-term IMO.

Who do we have to thank for recruiting him or did he choose UC on his own?
