Saw the Cal Davis visit tweet. I'm wondering where WMU is on his list.

He visited and didn't commit. I think that says a lot.

Cal Davis's coach, Jim Les is the older brother of his HS coach Tom Les. The visit doesn't surprise me.

However, his new AAU coach Mike Mullins, (son is Brian Mullins formerly of SIU fame) recruited him off another AAU squad assuring him Mooney he'd get the exposure and opportunities he was missing with previous AAU squad. To date, Mooney is getting that exposure with now offers from outside the Les Clan of Elon, WMU, UWGB and others I believe.

Has his brother found a home yet? Package deal?

I don't know and I don't know if that is the plan.

If it is the plan, I'd say with somewhat certainty that WMU is out of the picture

In the meantime, I'm hoping they have focused their attention on a few others as well.

To beat a dead horse 05-deadhorse Nate Navigato can play 3 offensive positions for WMU. I would say he can guard effectively the 3 and the 4. Bobby Freakin Hurley thought enough of Nate's skill. Nate's character fits Hawk's template. Like most D1 incoming freshman they have to transition on defense. But with Hawk's perspective and the work ethic that has been attributed to Nate that should not be an issue.
WMU may not be viewed as in the mix. But if that is mutual, that is a huge mistake by WMU. NN wont be MAC FPOY because he'll have more mature individuals ahead of him if he is at WMU. If he played at BSU last year he was every bit the match for Sellers. He'd start at NIU next year and would be pushing at Toledo to start with their holes from graduation.

GB convinced me, I'll jump on the NN bandwagon. He sounds a lot like Nate Hutcheson did when we brought him onboard-and you know the rest of that story. 02-13-banana

Not nearly as athletic at Hutch. But can shoot much much better.

Joe Mooney just committed to UC Davis after his visit there. He's off the board

I am told this kid is a great shooter. Will likely do well at Davis but like Hayden Hoerdemann and Austin Richie had some issues in being able to create space on their own at a competitive D1 level.

Credit the staff for finding this lad but his committing or not wasn't going to tip the scale.

Xavier Cochran said 7 days ago that in a week he would make an announcement ... Hey, he's a teenager. What's 7 days?

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but our list is down to the following:

Xavier Cochran - still undecided

Navigato - no clue if WMU is pursuing or even offered

There's gotta be others out there. At least I hope there are.

RE: Joe Mooney going on a visit and gets two more offers
Navigato was offered by Bradley (Brian Wardle new header and former at UWGB) two weeks ago during an unofficial visit and a week ago this past Saturday on an unofficial visit to Toledo. With no decision to date that tells me that neither jumped out for him as a fit. He said such re Bradley and this is his 2nd look at Toledo.

NN is still looking for "the fit". What about Buffalo other than Hurley would have been that "deal sealing draw"?
