FWIW, the Battle 4 Atlantis field is filling up. Louisville, Michigan State, Wichita State, VCU, St. John's and Florida Gulf Coast, plus whatever team represents CUSA and one more team.
if VCU is in it would that mean we are likely out?
I think last season Charlotte faced Miami (FL) twice due to one of these preseason tournaments.

wouldn't it be sweet to take two from them in one year?

Not necessarily. Tournaments don't usually (if at all) not invite teams because they show up on a participant's schedule. Hell, Georgetown and Butler were in the same conference and they were in last year's event, though I'm guessing maybe that was set up before Butler moved to the Big East.
Didn't ODU play someone twice recently, once in an early-season tournament and the other in the regular season? This sounds familiar.
They'd probably try to avoid a first-round matchup though if it were to come to pass.

RE: 2016 Tournament
This is the type of tournament we need to be in. With the looks of CUSA basketball, we need every opportunity for quality wins to deflect lose/lose RPI killers in this league.

Where did you see the list of teams for 2016 Battle for Atlantis?

ESPN tweeted some of them, and sites covering Louisville, Michigan State and St. John's have written stories. Wichita State was confirmed some time ago, and Florida Gulf Coast got in when the won the Atlantis on the Mainland tournament in 2012.

More Atlantis talk: LSU and Baylor also are in, according to Jeff Goodman's tweet:
I know the field has Mich St, Louisville, VCU, Wichita, Baylor, LSU, St. John’s. Also has to have a host C-USA team.
Not sure what happened to Florida Gulf Coast; I thought they were guaranteed a spot for winning the mainland tournament in 2012. Maybe they were bought out somehow?

Virginia Tech may be the final team in Atlantis.
I say "may" because the only source is Wikipedia's Battle 4 Atlantis page, and underneath Virginia Tech it reads "Note: Xavier Is the worst team in college basketball as they have no real skill at all!" Bleacher Report's Va. Tech page link to a Detroit News article says Tech is among five going to Atlantis, but the article itself lists VCU, not Tech. So who the hell knows.

Also, VA Tech and Louisville can't play in the same tournament because they're both in the ACC.
