No, I lean toward his story but it may sound worse than it is and may not be as uncommon it seems (the police protection is pretty extreme with that said).

When I was at UConn, we had an Information Technology professor that failed more than half of our class (100 students). I was lucky and got out of there with a "D", my only D in college. He was fired before the next semester. It was just a one hour class.

I've been in classrooms (not UCF) where the test average was under 50%. I got an A in the course as did a few others I knew, it was just a weed-out class that was filled with overwhelmingly lazy students.

The last two posts don't surprise me. College is full of many people there literally just to get a degree and not actually trying to study hard (or at least, not having the time between work and kids in some cases) and that's how it was for me (I didn't go to UH by the way). I took my extra curricular activities more seriously because that's what was what training me for what I was trying to get into.

Anyways, I don't want this to turn into one of my typical "don't go to college" rants but like I said, I don't find those stories at all surprising.

I dunno, if I did everything properly and got a B, I'd expect a B and not an F because the class pissed off the professor. I'm sure there's some truth here and he reached his "breaking point," but that doesn't excuse failing the entire class.

Exactly, there had to be at least one student in there that tried to do things the right way.
