I have 100 seats reserved in Section 202...looking forward to it.

BTW, individual tickets in the lower level will be $58. Doing the group rate thing...I'm getting them for $32. I'll fill you in in about a month with our tailgate plan.

Awesome! I perused your main board and it looks like there's talk of parking at the Old Fairgrounds/Kentucky Exposition Center. That's where our old stadium used to be, which is now torn down, and isn't a very long walk to PJCS. The benefit of parking there is you can pretty much take up as much space as you need. The majority of the tailgating takes place around the stadium. If you're definitely parking there, I'd recommend leaving the tailgate early head towards the stadium and mingle with the crowds around there. Cards fans are very welcoming and there will be plenty of beer and food to go around. Also, cheap beer inside the stadium on the Party Deck prior to kickoff.

Glad you all can come down!

Topper the KEC is one of the two spots we are looking at...CardinalJim gave me a lead on a lot next door to his lot. The owners are busy running a horse race right now...I'll call them in a few weeks...then make a decision.

Mark, not sure if You or any ' Cuse Fans or Spouses are interested in this but one of the Countries largest Outlet Mall recently opened about 5 miles East on I-64 from where You are staying. It's on right side heading East just as You cross the Jefferson/ Shelby county line. Also there are several large shopping malls and retail centers within about 6-8 miles from Your Hotel. Something to pass time coming in early for game.

http://www.theoutletshoppesofthebluegrass.com/

Thought it was called Ky Bluegrass Outlets. Could be wrong but it's Big and will be even larger by November. Of course We don't have a Mall as Big as DestiNY here though.
I found link.

The closest Malls are
Oxmoor Center
Mall St. Matthews
Both on Shelbyville Rd by I-264

outdoor shopping centers

The Paddock high end near I-265 and Hgwy. 22
Springhurst shopping center moderate by I-265 and Hgwy 146
Shelbyville Rd Plaza. Moderate next to Mall St. Matthews

Norton's Commons has Cabelas by I-265 and Hgwy 22

There is a new center being build at I-265 and US 60, Shelbyville rd. Should be completed by November. Has an Academy sporting goods store already open.

On our various trips around the country, my wife has taught me a lot about outlet malls. And this one is not close to being the largest or the swankiest.

We are going into Section 202, row EE and up...are those seats under the overhang? Is it still a decent seat?

Just a little correction to this. The old stadium is still standing. They only removed the metal bleachers. Main grandstand is still present.

Which, ironically, was the part they've been saying needs to be torn down...

And right now the Fairgrounds has other issues they need to address before tearing down Old Cardinal Stadium.

Just about any area around gates 3 or 4 would be the closest points to cross to Central ave. from the fairgrounds. not sure about fence line by gate 4. been awhile since I've parked there. There are several large Hotels and restaurants at that intersection. The Jefferson County Board of education has a large lot between those gates and used to only charge $5.00 to park on a first come basis. i've parked there also and cut through the arby's parking lot at Central ave and crossed the overpass. Lot's of people set up all around there. Boy Scouts are around the corner off central. Short walk but You really need to watch for impatient drivers while crossing Central.

Keith is this the entrance to the The Jefferson County Board of education Lot? For $5 or $10 that might be a good deal. Do they have port-potties set up?

Thats the spot. It seems They did have Some Portapots there. But I usually just parked there and walked to the Green lot to meet My Friends by pole 3. I know lots of Folks parked there and walked to the Tailgating spots. I know many were setting up around there but not sure if Alcohol was allowed on the immediate school property. If anyone else can verify the Alcohol ruling please do.

I guess the porta-potties really have to be close by.

03-lmfao BTW, I emailed the Boy Scout Troop to see if we can prebuy spots...several different options. Louisville actually looks like a really decent roadie for ACC fans.
