11 Stunning Images Highlight the Double Standard of Reactions to Riots Like Baltimore
The city of Baltimore, Maryland, has been besieged by riots Monday night — and police are on the scene ready to serve, protect and subdue.

This has become an evergreen narrative in the aftermath of reactions to state-sanctioned violence against black people. But that it persists sends a troubling message about how officials and, by extension, many of the people they serve regard rioting: specifically, when there's white people involved versus mostly black people.

Here's a double standard...

When anyone points out that white kids also get shot by police, the response is always "but it happens more to black kids" even though no one can show black kids are more likely to be unjustly shot or that they are no more likely than white kids to put themselves in situations where they are face to face with police.

And the same people want to tell us there's no difference between sports riots and the Baltimore/Ferguson riots in terms of scale and monetary damage just because they can show pictures of them?

Why do folks riot when their teams WIN championships.....not that doing it when they lose is any better.....

you mean stupidity comes in difference races?

Don't think anyone is defending riots.. period.

Also, media writing stories about other media is so boring.

Some aren't even characterizing the people in Baltimore as rioters, so it goes both ways. 07-coffee3

All he is really doing is deflecting the attention away from the travesty of Freddy Gray's death and the rioters.
