Mark did a great job.Really appreciated his work.

Mark took a job in car sales at Brondes Ford instead of his day job of commercial sales at WSPD. My understanding was that he was going to keep doing the Rocket games.

I believe Beier has a contract with UT to do the games. WSPD just airs it.

Correct. Rocket Sports Properties controls the broadcasts and broadcasters. WSPD is the station that has paid for the rights to the broadcasts. RSP is also the reason why you can't listen to UT football and basketball games on WSPD online or on the IHeartRadio app.

It's not an easy time to be in sales in local radio in a market like Toledo.

By far the best play-by-play announcer in the MAC IMO

Brondes is a supporter of Toledo athletics by advertising and being a car coach (providing vehicles for our coaches). My guess is that they will allow him to continue doing broadcasts.

Agreed. I've grown up listening to nothing but Mark Beier broadcasting Rocket football and men's basketball games. I love when he says "rrrrrockets."

Jerry Keil was the best. Mark was excellent though. Hope they work something out and he returns.

He tried to mention every town around the area to let them know they were connected to and part of The University Of Toledo.

Beier is better than Keil was

"He bends and sends"

"He dips and flips"

One UT win up at Mt Pleasant, Keil and his broadcast booth cohorts broke
into the Rocket Fight Song on air after a crucial play at the end of the game.

He eyes, he flies, he threads the needle!

I like both Keil and Beier. Not sure I have a favorite between the two.

I like both, as well. Both did a fine job. I would hate to lose Mark for any reason other than he just can't do it anymore. Hopefully that is a long way out.
