The rich just keep getting richer.

Now that Ingram has signed will this lead to a dam break of signing?

NC State just signed Shaun Kirk from Whiteville. He changed from a 2016 to a 2015. He is a 3 star 6'6" small forward.

There's not much of a dam left to break. Only two top recruits still on the board, unless more juniors reclassify to the class of 2015.

Kentucky offered Kirk today. Should be interesting if he stays with State.

That is interesting. Kentucky had only 8 recruited players on its roster, and a week or so ago were still heavily pursuing the 8-10 five star kids still uncommitted. It appears they may have struck out with all of them, if they are now willing to offer a three star high school junior for depth.

I was including grad school and hardship transfers, reclassified and role player etc. not just the top seniors. Remember Freeman was suppose to be a role player add when he signed late with the pack.

I know they are not legally bound until they sign a LOI, but is there a gentleman's agreement about going after students after they verbally commit? If there is, which coaches are the most gentlemanly and which the least? I guess there is no honor among thieves.03-banghead

Considering how many signing day surprises there are, and how worried many coaches are in the days leading up to signing day, you'd have to think it's fairly commonplace to keep recruiting kids who have committed. I'm not even sure if grad transfers need to sign an LOI, or if they simply enroll at their new school.

In addition to the benefits of getting new players into spring football before their freshman year, there is an added benefit that coaches no longer have to worry about those kids changing their mind at the eleventh hour. Some schools these days get a majority of their recruits to enroll early.

So basically in the NC State situation just because we say there are few players out there that haven't already committed doesn't mean that there aren't players out there to be signed. Gott and Moxley and the others could simply be pursuing some of those players that have verbally committed to less high profile programs and flip them? Kirk suddenly gets an offer from Kentucky that he never expected and what looked like a great offer from State loses it's luster. Some kid verbally commits at VCU, UCF, Iona, etc. and NC State makes them an offer and suddenly that original offer when compared to a bigtime ACC offer suddenly loses it's luster. So in essences it isn't over until you lock the bathroom door and count the money!

Is State above doing something like that?

RE: Brandon Ingram
The Kirk kid signed his LOI with NC State this afternoon. I don't think he was foolish enough to become a practice dummy at UK.

This is 3/4 star kid that should stay in the program 4 years as opposed to being a one or two and done. At UK he would have been recruited over every year.

Finding the right mix between 4 year players like UVa, and one and dones like UK and Duke is difficult.
