I have good memories of Skeeter Gowen. Those who never saw him play missed something. He was a diminutive Tiger fullback (from CBHS) who was damned good at getting tough yards up the middle. One night as I was entering the McDonalds on Highland near UofM, he was standing just inside the door wearing a dress shirt and tie (I have no idea why) and told me they were about to close. Since he looked like a manager and I didn't recognize him, I just turned around and walked back toward my car until he laughed and called me back. He was just another customer. Pretty good joke.
