Louisville's fan support is amazing. We should all try to emulate it.

It is a fine line to walk not to piss them off but the Pirate Club needs a new vision to catch up with the times and become more attractive to students that graduated the last 10-15yrs.

It should be way over that IMO. Unfortunately it's controlled by a small-town / small-time good ole boy network. The 10,000 donor 03-lmfao number is just creative accounting (including <$50 Student Pirate Club memberships) to hide the stagnation of real membership growth.

Memphis had a 10 million dollar donation to basketball this year --- courtesy of Bill Laurie. That doesn't seem to be reflected in the numbers.

No, it is, but the student athletic fee and the student pirate club are separate. Students pay to be in the Student Pirate Club through a membership fee.

Do you have to be s fan of ECU to join the pirate club. Arghhh

Not at all. We love OPM! (other people's money)

Either the donation was too soon to be tabulated into the 2014-2015 fiscal year, or donations to specific sports were not tabulated into the report.

I would think a donation specifically to basketball would be considered a "restricted" donation and therefore would not apply.

Nope, it wouldn't even fall under their buster club's numbers. That would be directly to the athletic department for a specific sport and be report under the athletic department budget.

Actually, the number is right there if you look. 7,422, then you can add the 10,000 SPC members, for a total of 17,422.

RE: Donation Comparisons
there are lots of ways money goes into the coffers at memphis. large donations like laurie's fall into the university foundation, not tiger clubs. memphis' booster clubs (highland hundred, rebounders, bullpen, ect) also fall under the university foundation. foundation numbers do not appear to be reflected in that OP graph. tiger club donations are strictly tied to scholarship costs and are the donation numbers you see under the athletic department umbrella. those dollars reflect the number of season ticket accounts where the seating requires a donation. non-student section upper deck endzones at fedexforum and end zone seating at the liberty bowl are sold as economy season ticket packages with no donation required.
