LR Bowl Game Application For 2015 Withdrawn
Local media reports that civic leaders said the logistics couldn't be worked out for a 2015 game. ESPN reports that a TV contract for the bowl couldn't be secured.

The story in the ADG contradicts the ESPN report that no TV contract had been secured. SBC Commissioner Benson said the bowl had an offer from a television network and a title sponsor. Given that statement, it seems likely that there is something else happening here. Otherwise why submit an application just a week or so ago and expect to hear about approval in early May only to withdraw it? Odd.
