I heard Earl Barron's interview on WHBQ.

Earl is articulate, smart, hard- working and a Tiger. I enjoyed his description of how he gave the Phoenix Sun's coach advice in timeouts on plays to run. He also described the advice he gave Joe Jackson on playing really hard on D to improve himself and make the NBA. What I realized during the interview is that here is a guy who is an NBA journeyman, including winning a ring at Miami, and now the best player in the D-league. He has lots of basketball knowledge and experience, the respect of younger players, and of his coaches.

I would like to see Earl as an assistant coach for the Tigers when he ends his NBA career. He could be an outstanding big man coach and has the NBA cred to impress recruits too.

What do you think?

Any of the above mentioned Tigers would make a better assistant than the Walton feller Josh had.

AA for sure. That guy needs to be in the fold here. Tough, tough guy. Would probably make a great assistant specializing on toughness, defense, and 'marbles'.

All credit to Earl Barron however, it all seems to have turned out ok for him. Well deserved.

I'm related to one of his HS teachers - she described him as "quiet and very well mannered in school."

Earl would be great!! I went to school with him. He's super nice and VERY smart!

I love Keith Lee and think he is one of the tiger greats. However he would not be a good choice, he is way too introverted.

Isn't he coaching now? He may be introverted in public but he knows his way around a basketball court.

We have different thresholds for the # of holes in a t-shirt before they need to be tossed. Her's is anything above zero.
