RE: G5 payouts from CFP
Overall the American teams come out with the most across the board. Somewhere around $6 million each including TV, etc. In CUSA ECU only received about $ 1 Million overall.

RE: G5 payouts from CFP
for the next 4 years, UConn/Cincy/USF are in the absolute best spot of any G5 program...the American's war chest of entry/exit fees, and abandoned NCAA credits is split 60-40 (old/new schools)

TV money - 1.82 million
football money - 1.28 million
basketball money - 1.982
war chest money - 4 million

or 9.1 million for UConn/Cincy/USF this year.

6.1 for the rest of us (sans Navy)

Keeping beating that horse, you'll be back to last before long, like in 2013. Probably next season, since the Sun Belt has found a winner in Georgia Southern.

Still, pretty sad that you couldn't get the NY6 bowl with the best year the conference has had or will have.

Edit: Lol. Based on the RPI rankings C-USA loves to pound into the sand, The American finished 8th in RPI Index, with 20.81 (SEC was 31.56) and C-USA finished 9th with 20.34, a difference of .47 in favor of the AAC.

Meanwhile, in 2013 the AAC finished 6th, with 22.14 and C-USA finished 11th with... 17.90, a difference of 4.24 points...

Keeping Louisville in mind, and easily trading Rutgers for ECU, the AAC averages a 7th place finish (including Independents) with 21.24 RPI index whereas C-USA averages 9.5, with a 19.12 RPI index. And Navy comes in this year, which will raise that average whereas C-USA loses one of it's better teams in UAB.

It took down years from UCF, Houston, Cincinnati, Tulsa, and USF (emphasis on years, in this case) for C-USA's best year with this lineup to come oh so close to beating the AAC.

You should be so proud.

Because you get something like 1 million per team.

They have 14, we had 11 (last season)

They have 14, we had 11 (last season)
WRONG, has absolutely nothing to do with the number of teams in a conference!

you get 300k per team (assuming they meet APR requirements)

I was wrong on the amount, though...

This is some BS. We need to blow up this conference and start all over.

I'm wondering if we were so close together that the #2 and #3 performance money was combined and split between CUSA and the AAC. The difference between CUSA and the AAC was 1.1 million. G5 conferences are guaranteed 1 million per team with a maximum of 12 million. So, one million of that difference between CUSA and the AAC was directly attributable to us having 11 teams and CUSA having 13 teams. That means the performance difference was only worth $100K to CUSA. Maybe the performance money gets divided a little differently if two conferences are virtually tied.

6 million of the 20.7 was awarded to the MW because Boise claimed the G5 access bowl slot. The MW revenue distribution system allows the winning team to keep half the 6mil. So, Boise gets 3 million + 1/12th of the remaining 17.7 million.

So, in that scenario, it would mean that Boise St. actually received more from the CFP than the average ACC and Big Ten teams.

Boise St. = $4.475 million ($3 mil plus $1.75[1/12th of $17.7mil])

ACC = $4.085 mil ($57.2 divided by 14)
Big Ten = $4.378 mil ($61.3 divided by 14)

And, that's assuming that Florida St. and Ohio St. didn't get larger shares.

Also, note that the average Big 12 institution would bring home $6.74 million in CFP revenue ($67.4 mil divided by 10). THAT is another reason why the Big 12 isn't expanding anytime soon.

It's more like ~10 to 1 in TV contract money.

CFP money doesn't include bowl money, including the Contract Bowl money.

Nope, we were #3 and got #3 money.

The numbers don't fit the formula. CUSA would get 1 million more than the AAC just for having at least 12 teams (rather than just 11 like the AAC). The performance pool was at least 11 million or $733K a share. If you are correct, CUSA had 4 shares (2nd place) while we only got 3 shares (3rd place)---an additional difference of $733K. There should have been a total difference of 1.733 million. Instead , the difference is 1.1 million---which is only 100K over the 1 million extra base the conference got for having 12 teams.

If your remember the difference was very very close. I wonder if there was a inaccuracy discovered in the numbers. Rather than a public squabble, a quiet compromise was reached behind the scenes.

I don't really remember how the numbers all shook out it's just strange that the shares don't add up. Could be you're right but I don't know why we wouldn't go public if our rating was incorrectly stated as 3 when it should have been 2. I wonder if we'll ever find out the reason or what the payouts for 1-2-3 will look like next year.

Guess the MWC gets bragging rights for the top G5 conference this year. Highest in CFP money, winner of the access bowl sweepstakes and beat Arizona in the access bowl, and a three bid NCAA BB Tournament conference. 04-jawdrop

You have to step it up in 2015 / 2016 AAC. 01-lauramac2 05-mafia 04-cheers

Yup. We could not have been much less impressive in year one of the CFP era. That said, I see a lot of reasons to believe we will be better in 2015-2016 year.
