Kirsten Powers has a spot on piece in USA Today about how Obama’s selective outrage shuns Christians who face brutal persecution across the world. Powers is a big Democrat backer. Sadly, the rampant persecution of Christians all over the globe does not fit into Obama’s worldview and therefore must go unacknowledged.

Standing next to President Obama at their joint news conference Friday, Renzi dismissed it as a one-off event and said, “The problem is not a problem of (a) clash of religions.”

While the prime minister plunged his head into the sand, Italian authorities arrested and charged the Muslim migrants with “multiple aggravated murder motivated by religious hate,” according to the BBC.

As Renzi was questioned about the incident, Obama was mute on the killings. He failed to interject any sense of outrage or even tepid concern for the targeting of Christians for their faith. If a Christian mob on a ship bound for Italy threw 12 Muslims to their death for praying to Allah, does anyone think the president would have been so disinterested? When three North Carolina Muslims were gunned down by a virulent atheist, Obama rightly spoke out against the horrifying killings. But he just can’t seem to find any passion for the mass persecution of Middle Eastern Christians or the eradication of Christianity from its birthplace.

Religious persecution of Christians is rampant worldwide, as Pew has noted, but nowhere is it more prevalent than in the Middle East and Northern Africa, where followers of Jesus are the targets of religious cleansing. Pope Francis has repeatedly decried the persecution and begged the world for help, but it has had little impact. Western leaders — including Obama — will be remembered for their near silence as this human rights tragedy unfolded. The president’s mumblings about the atrocities visited upon Christians (usually extracted after public outcry over his silence) are few and far between. And it will be hard to forget his lecturing of Christians at the National Prayer Breakfast about the centuries-old Crusades while Middle Eastern Christians were at that moment being harassed, driven from their homes, tortured and murdered for their faith.

I don't really know what increasing the rhetoric would do to help anything, to be honest. I don't want a president intent on further radicalizing possible moderate muslims by continuing to blame a religion of over a billion people for the actions of only some of their members, but I also think Obama should be more blunt about what happened in some of these cases. But then again, many of the instances where conservatives acted outraged were not at all outrage worthy. The breakfast prayer thing was ridiculous, with numerous people straight lying as Obama pretty sternly denounced ISIS right before mentioning that all religions be wary of extremism. He mentioned other religions besides christianity, so acting like it was a slam against christians is ludicrous.

I mean, there are a billion of them, it's factually accurate to describe them as being mostly peaceful. And I'm not saying that from an intolerance stance, I'm saying that in a 'it's simply not true'.

Furthermore, it's silly to want a president who would offend a much larger group of people in order to make us feel warmer and fuzzier about the verbal consequences of some of that groups actions? That's just bad diplomacy, and only results in further extremism among the larger group.

The Pope's job is to worry specifically about Christians, Obamas is to worry about Americans. He's stated support for them enough times for any rational person, but if he so much as makes a speech without stating how much he wants to kill some camel-f*ckers multiple times, you act like he's just ignoring them. You then made stupid comparisons like the one above, THAT'S LITERALLY THE POPES JOB, and act like you've proven some point.

One liberal is focusing on this problem. Most libs, including those in power, are silent on the mass slaughter of Christians. But they go ballistic if a Muslim is offended anywhere in the world.
