Starting in 1997 he was CFO by 2012 and is now CEO. Very impressive rise to the top.

That's a pretty impressive rise through the ranks.

I guess he can finally put something on his resume that tops Rice beating Texas...

If he had played at a good many schools he would have made crew leader at Burger King by now. Congrats to Jeremy, Rice football, and Julie Griswold. Just another great story for the coaching staff to use with the parents of potential recruits.

Great news. He still seems to be a good supporter of the program.

We had an offensive lineman in that era who originally was set to go to Army but switched at the last moment to Rice? I can't recall for sure now but I wonder if it was Thigpen?

I get what you're saying, and agree with the last 2 sentences. Somehow, I think Jeremy would've been highly successful wherever he went to school, although hopefully Rice still made some differences for him along the way. I know you weren't implying otherwise, it's just the first sentence could be interpreted differently.

Nice!
I heard we could use some corporate sponsors... and the stadium needs some work...
Hopefully folks in the development dept are aware.

Rick, you are absolutely correct. We all know schools that discourage (and even stronger) student athletes from taking difficult courses or majors.

The late RiceDoc commented often on how that was a major theme in his recruitment that led him to Rice.

I wonder how many Rice football players have been CEOs of well-known companies. I know Sam Reed was (Keebler) and Jay Collins (Oceaneering). Any others come to mind?
