Expected to announce Friday afternoon, but GP & others have reported it's done. Ole Miss cancelled their in-home tonight. NEVER count out UK, no matter what...but it looks like he's headed in his father's footsteps.

S/O to Howland taking care of the elite prospect in his own backyard by any means necessary. Can't afford to let NBA players in your own zip code leave town.

seriously, why would anyone want to play for a coach that has put more players in the league than Cal? why would a highly touted combo guard from right down the road want to play for the coach that helped transform Russell Westbrook from a 3 star to one of the best players in the NBA?

Mississippi schools have to pay big $$$ to keep their blue chippers in state. It's just too difficult to recruit OOS when you have to tell a kid "...but Tunica is close by and we have gravel beaches! And don't mind the Klan rally in Meridian."

My State friends see a NCAA tourney next year...THAT is absurd, IMO.

I don't think it's absurd. We lost like 6-7 games last year by less than 5 points. we have a much better coach now and only lost 1 player.

I really think 20 wins is reasonable.

I just don't see it. Overall lack of talent on the roster. Teams will take away Malik and then what?

That being said, just by adding Newman I think State increases their chances greatly - but one guy makes not an NCAA tourney team.

I don't care if he called it the University of Ole Mississippi State as long as he's playing in Starkville next year.
