MyBB It seems to me that Josh Pastner
Is repeating the mistakes of the recent past. Taking transfers who've already played at multiple schools. Loading up on one position. He's doing the same old thing & expecting different results. I'm beginning to feel sorry for him. It's becoming a mochery.

I'm hoping he gathered this method from a past coach he worked with. Lute or Cal. And will start understand the other parts of the formula soon.

No idea what this thread is about, but I assume it's another bash Pastner thread, which was sorely needed since the other 397 created this month had sort of fallen behind.

You could always create another poll.

So hold up getting two guys one a transfer and one a high school player at a position of desperate need is repeating mistakes. Josh just can't do anything right.

It's funny that others can see what great pickups Martin and Tarrant are, yet our own fans can't see it.

RE: It seems to me that Josh Pastner
Seems u rarely do understand me, TigerBill.

It has been pointed out that CJP is doing something "again" (recruiting experience at same position). It seems assumed that because of this "continued practice" that he is doing everything the same. I'm saying that I hope there is another part of the formula that has gotten better (which has not been accounted for i.e. offensive system using this same position in another way, etc).

I'm also wondering if this "same/continued practice" of recruited experienced/transfer players at the same position-portion of CJP's formula-was a suggestion of Lute Olsen or Cal.....or a CJP idea. Maybe this clears it up for u. Maybe not.

I think that's an easy answer.

And you thought it was a criticism, which it was not. Taking transfers every year is a recipe for disaster, with last year as prima facia evidence. Sure, we had a freshman to groom for the future, but as it turns out the freshman either wasn't good enough, or could not flourish under this coach. Thus we are stuck again with hoping a PG comes through. We do have another freshman to develop, and hopefully this time he will actually get the chance.

What exactly are you referring to OP?

What past mistakes - when it comes to taking transfers and loading up on one position?

Love Dixon but since we finished 5th in the AAC , got beat by double digits on our home floor in the 1st round of the conference tourney, then got an 8 seed; I'd say that didn't work out.

That wasn't b/c Dixon didn't work out. That logic is flawed.

Having 4 guards that all needed major minutes caused our longer wing players to not be developed. So I big to differ.

There may have been some chemistry issues, too. The three amigos (GJ, Joe and Chirs) were on board with getting major minutes, then a new gunner comes in...which could very well led to the "what is wrong with us, why you got to bring in someone else? You think he's better?"

Ohhhh, that's why Kuran and Nick didn't develop! because Michael Dixon was taking all the minutes at SF... got it.

That team was better b/c of those 4 experienced guards. Without them I don't want to think of what our season would've been like.

Dude came off the bench most games!

And on the flip side, it could drive competition and make each player work harder to earn playing time.

I just don't understand how adding a guy like Dixon (especially knowing that he WON GAMES FOR US THAT YEAR) can be looked at as a bad idea...

Actually it was Crawford and Geron that got the small forward minutes. The leash was longer for the "FoKingz" than it was for Wilson, Kuran and King. If you can't see that then you are blind. Now maybe we still finish 5th and get curbstomped by UConn and UVA if we played a longer lineup, but maybe not. We know what happened in the other instance. Have a nice day sir.
