now you're talking like NIU is some ratings juggernaut. Even the highest rated MACtion game is barely a blip and numbers show that which channel you're on matters much more than which two MAC teams are playing.

You can't tell me that EMU played several more MACtion games than WMU because thats what ESPN wanted. NIU plays weeknight game because NIU wants to.

Don't you think that ESPN has control over what they are showing - especially considering that they are paying the conference for the right to show the games?

WTF are you talking about? EMU played one mid-season Thursday night conference game in 2012 and 1 mid-season Thursday night conference game in 2009. That's it unless you go back even further.

And the one in 09 was against NIU.

Might want to check that EMU / WMU comparison...

WMU...2008 Tues Nov 25th, 2009 Tues Nov 24th, 2010 Fri Nov 5th, 2011 Tues Nov 8, 2011 Wed Nov 16. Really I only see 2012-2014 without a weeknight game for WMU...because ESPN was not expecting them to do much.

For the MAC on ESPN2/U yes NIU is one of the best when it comes to ratings. NIU, Toledo and Ohio have been the top 3 ratings grabbers in the MAC but NIU has been one of the top 6 G5 teams in average ratings on ESPN/2/U since 2011.

Here are the 2014 MACtion ratings...

Tuesday, November 4
0.3 340K 8:00 PM Bowling Green/Akron ESPN2
0.1 113K 8:00 PM Toledo/Kent State ESPNU
