According to his twitter page, Gavin Thompson, class of '19, will be unofficially visiting ETSU. Thompson, a 5'9" 145 PG, hails from the Bronx but currently attends The King's Academy Boarding School in Knoxville.

The fact that Forbes et al. plan to host an 8th grader reflects this staff's big-time approach. I love it.
Shades of Bobby Knight recruiting 8th grade point guard Damon Bailey in 1986. See John Feinstein's "A Season on the Brink".
Bailey went on to start for 4 years for Knight in a fairly successful stretch that featured a couple of Big Ten championships and 1 Final Four finish. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Damon_Bailey
And although this has been going on for a while, it still leaves me pretty uncomfortable that highly paid, grown men are spending a good chunk of their lives telling children how great they are.

According to Prep Hoops Florida we are showing interest in 5'10" - 6'1" (depending on the source!) 170 lb PG Keon Clergeot (Auburndale, Fl). Clergeot appears to be an athletic point guard with great vision, a tight handle, and a knack for getting buckets in the lane:

That's a good question. We certainly have a lot of height and length on roster all of a sudden, perhaps the tallest (from memory, feel free to correct me if mistaken or missing a player above 6'5):
But we don't necessarily have a designated bruiser. I'll be interested to see if Overstreet, Holley, or even Williams wants to fill that role. I'd hope Williams will be hungry for playing time his final year, ready to bust some butt--he's undersized but has a strong build and long arms for the height he does possess. Jurkin and Banks seem to be inside/out bigs with some shooting touch, but not liable to back anyone down or hold them out of the paint. Johnson is obviously a guard, not expected to be physical per se.
Ultimately, I think we have a great mix of bigs to run a sharp transition offense and crash the boards relentlessly, while tallying up the blocks we've been missing, even if we won't be the most physical team in the SoCon or elsewhere. Every one of these guys can run and jump. Let me add that our guards/small forwards are generally of good height and athleticism, as well. There's no reason it shouldn't be a wild ride out the gates with Forbes!

I hope that AJ and Desonta convince their friend to come to ETSU.
He's now on Florida's radar, as well. If we landed Barford, is this our biggest recruit since Pigram? Would love to get that old pipeline we used to have in Memphis back.

Xavier too....What a stud. I'd say Barford would be right there with Pigram in terms of blue-chip prospects. Bartow should've brought Barford in as a prop-48. Maybe Barford didn't want to go that route.

That carrot was dangled, and Barford did not want to go that route. I think he will go as high as he possibly can. Just my opinion.
