Don't you see? That is what makes slavery in America so horrible.

It isn't slavery per se because every culture on the planet had it at one time or another.

The differnce is that in American, they made it about race.

That's not really true. There were societies which did enslave those of the same or similar race, greeks and romans enslaving members of nearby conquered cities for instance, but I'm sure there was lots of precedence in using race as a dividing line too.

You are making the same arguement I am. It was only in America that Europeans enslaved people based on race.
