Hey, listen, I'm good for $50 if he actually proves to me that his family wouldn't put up a memorial for him.

Sooooo, uhhhh, this is what a "Library Association" is involved in? This is what they are charged with doing with their no doubt limited funds? Good grief, no wonder half the people can't read or write.

Half of what people are you refering to? Do you have a statistic to back that claim up?

What group of people are you referring to and what statistical evidence to you have (link) that proves that only half of them know how to read?

I guess vandalism IS appropriate after all.

Vandalism being appropriate or not (which it isn't), do you think he deserved a memorial?

I guess the same could be said for a drunk driver that killed himself and an innocent bystander getting a roadside memorial.

How many of these do you know to exist? How many are as permanent as a tree and plaque? Big difference there buddy.

I see them all of them time. How you feel about Mike Brown has nothing to do with how his loved ones feels about Mike Brown. Let them remember their loved ones.

Or questioned you righ to memorialize them in the first place?

The intolerance of this room is amazing.

On what grounds does he deserve a public memorial in addition to a grave-site memorial?

Is it an official public memorial paid for with tax dollars? If it is then I would say he doesn't deserve that.

However, if the family has requested they plant a tree in his honor or decorate the place where he was shot and killed, I don't see a problem with that. People do it all over the city down here in Texas.

It was in a public park. Paid for by Black Caucus of Chicago.

Still doesn't mean he was worthy of a public memorial.

That's your opinion and you are entitled to it.

I believe several on here have defended their position of him not being worthy of a memorial in a public park based on his character. Why do you feel he is entitled to one?

Wow. you really are a racist bigot, aren't you? What made you jump to that kind of statement or conclusion?

Who said anything about a "those people" or some group? I specifically said half "the" people. It's right up there, should I go bold that for you too?

It is perhaps a bit of an exaggeration, but meant in the same vein as "I can't believe what you idiots write around here half the time" Or, half these people out here right now can't drive worth a ****. Get it now?

Now are we to just focus on Brown's tree, why not Fido's.. Because it doesn't seem like it was a targeted thing, just idiots out vandalizing..

But then again, never let something like this go to waste.. I bet it was the 80% of the force that quit in Parma.. They quit, drove up to Ferguson, and tore that place up.

Regardless of who did it or whose memorial was vandalized. The take away here is that some people suddenly don't have a problem with vandalizm when they did just a few short weeks ago.

Can anyone say fake outrage?
So a sapling and a plaque are equal to a person's business?

And you know that every one of the roadside memorials you see are for a drunk driver who killed someone how?

As far as I know the Black Caucus such and such from Chicago aren't Mike Brown's family, so it isn't equitable to a memorial for one of their loved ones.

Everyone doesn't put up a memorial in a public park for a loved one. (Or request one... not sure how it came about in the first place)

Maybe not in a public park but in my city at least, there are hundreds of memorials all over the place at locations where people have been killed.
