Michael Brown Memorial Tree Vandalized a Day After Its Dedication
Well that didn't take long.

The sapling, purchased by the Black Caucus of the American Library Association in Chicago, was cut down and the plaque at its base was stolen, the Washington Post reports.

He doesn't deserve one anyway. Either way, the fact that anyone in Ferguson would object to vandalism/destruction is beyond laughable.

Memorialized for what??? Attacking an officer and getting shot? Is he some sort of cult hero now?

I'm sure the money was being collected prior to the full reports from both the StL Police Department and the US Government were released.. That tree probably raised about $15k.

It's a fitting tribute. I dont know why you cant see that. The only thing more fitting is if the guy's ass-crack was exposed as he was chopping down the tree.

Vandalism being appropriate or not (which it isn't), do you think he deserved a memorial?

Who am I to say who does or does not deserve a memorial?

If it was your loved one, would you want others telling you whether or not it was appropriate to memorialize them?

bull****. He was no angel that helped little old ladies cross the street or did any other sort of measurable good for the community that we have been told about. What family in their right minds would think a thief who attacked a cop deserved a public memorial tree and plaque?

I guess the same could be said for a drunk driver that killed himself and an innocent bystander getting a roadside memorial.

How many of these do you know to exist? How many are as permanent as a tree and plaque? Big difference there buddy.

Hum. Let me help you with the answer. No.

The family wants to memorialize him with something fitting, let em put his picture on the toilet paper dispenser.

It is human nature to focus on the good things a person did once they have passed rather than focus on the bad that they have done.

Who are you to say whether he was a good person or not.

Your entire view of this person is based on one day in his 18 years of existance.

Don't you think your sample is a bit too small?
