Yes those are Bakers pet project. They are supposed to be in use as an alternate to the Huskie Bus system for students to hop on and off to/from classes during the week. They also run allong the "spine" of campus which Baker wants more focus on. This is the path that starts at the bus stop turnaround by Dusable and goes thru MLK.

These transports cost a decent chunk money and we have anywhere from 3-6 of these right now. I am not sure if they are really road legal but they might be.

I believe I saw a few people from the board riding them so they can give a review of how comfortable they are.

Well...they look ideal for what we're talking about here.

As far as students at Basketball games this year it looked like Greeks were easily 2/3 of student attendance. And in theory...they're coming from further away.

Attendance from the Dorms was brutal.

I took a ride on one of them, one that had actual doors on it. You could only fit 6 or 8 people in one and that's squeezing in 3 people in space more likely to fit two. You had to slam the doors shut to get them to stay shut, I don't think they'll last more than 2 weeks of full usage. The other one I saw had some kind of tarp that was rolled up but could be lowered as protection against the weather - that would allow someone to jump in quicker. But still it would only hold about 8 people.

I just can't see those being much of a solution.

Doesn't help that half the dorms are empty....well half before they knocked down Douglas.

The tarp one was the prototype/first one. Baker wanted the ones with the doors so the riders could get out of the elements.

They were already in use for about 1 full year. I think they came out with the first one Spring of 2014 then the one with the doors came this fall.

I agree with you that the tarped one is better overall and especially for the purpose of what they want to try to achieve.

He shot .573% from the field and .756% from the FT line, with 4 Pts. and 4 RBs per game. I believe if he is able to have some scorers emerge around him, he will surprise a lot of fans. I do think we could use 1 more big this year.

I actually am a big fan of Maric. My concern with him though is keeping him on the floor, as he seems prone to finding foul trouble.

St. Bonaventure has JUCO 7-footer Andrew Zelis on campus for an official visit this weekend, per coach Mike Mullins.

Not good, Huskies need this kid!

Not following the coach. I was checking to see what Zelis was up to. NIU bball recruiting has his name. You click his name at that site and this is what comes up. It has info on any one NIU is recruiting. Example, it tells you that NIU was recruiting Christian Williams. It also tells you that he just signed with Iowa.
