Yeah, Antonio was a special college player. No question. Great guy too.

yea mimi, I was thinking playing at college level only, pretty much. pg's, hybrids, et al, included.

looks like there's enough ambiguity in the op, as well, to spin off which guard has the school record for scoring the most points in a game, win or lose...

Depends on whether you want to call him a guard or not.

Madlock is probably one of the more underrated Tigers of all time. A tough hard nosed point guard who could play D.

Mike Butler played for Moe Iba, a slow down coach who liked to hold the ball for at least two minutes before a shot was taken....no three point shot either. Mike only played only three years but had 1409 points.(#10)

Can't argue with any of the above.
Honorable Mention, then, in no particular order:

Elliot Perry
Elliot Williams
Tony Madlock'
Joe Jackson
Mingo Johnson
Cheyenne Gipson (doubles for the all-name team)
Will Barton
Doom Haynes

I can’t argue with any of those either. Memphis has a history of producing and/or getting good guards.

Yep, and there are more, imho.

These best "in history" threads generally skip over "history" and go right to recent memory..

Imho, a disservice to our true fabled history.

I think Antonio Burks deserves to be on the honorable mention list too. Good list!

Mike Butler could BALL and then BALL some more. Moe's did make them hold the ball, but Mike played a year for Dean Ehlers, who let him run. We need a Dude like him now, he liked to shoot and would bust a trey in today's game
