The ratings system around today only started in 2002, so no, Tulane didn't. No one cares about 1993 anyway. The high school and college basketball landscape is completely different. No high school McDonald's All American is going to Tulane. You are being completely unrealistic.

1993 doesn't matter unless it's temple. Leave Savacool/Jonathan to his rants.

Players were ranked back then (just different services than those that rank them now) and, indeed, Clark signed 2 top 10 national recruits in the 1990s (Jerald Honneycutt and Byron Mouton) as well as several others in the top 100. All but one of the top recruits, however, were signed after we made our first NCAA tourney.
But our AD and Pres ran off Perry Clark so they could bring in the AD's buddy, and, indeed, the 1990s are long gone and irrelevant to today's recruiting.

Not denying it but Georgia State is claiming a 4-star signee in D'Marcus Simonds, listed as a 6'4" shooting guard or "combo guard" (hadn't heard of that before) who had verbally committed to Mississippi State in November but now electing to stay closer to home. If Georgia State can lure athletes of that caliber then I think any AAC member can do so as well.

Fire Conroy at Tulane now. All his players are deserting him. Three or four this year and about twelve total the last few years. Fire AD at Tulane Rick Dickson.

RE: Tulane gets 3* small forward Kipper Nichols
We did not run off Perry Clark. Toward the end of his career at Tulane he was enjoying his half million dollar salary and I would seem him with his girl friend at Houston's during working hours not working to promote Tulane basketball. He would treat his assistant coaches as slaves sending them out to pick up recruits at the airport. He became lazy like Rick Jones did in his last years pulling in both half million dollar salaries and did not put in the 20 hours a day recruiting when they first took their jobs. Did Mouton walk out of Perry's program in first year? Why? I love Gerald Honeycutts half court shot against Florida State in the Superdome. Dale Brown went crazy losing Honeycutt to Tulane. Allegedly
Dale Brown allegedly paid off the brother of and mother of Randy Livingston to get him to LSU. . Randy was number one in the nation as a point guard but Dale allegedly over played him and injured him and his potential salary went from a $25 million a year possibly annual salary to zero. Randy was cocky but it died when his leg died. He was cocky and got we what he deserved . Instead of getting $25m a year he got peanuts. A loser Randy!

This helps.
