RE: A Marshall Pattern
You should've known posting something like this was going to lead to that...

It's about like the "Marshall-- We play for Championships" thread that started on the first visit to CCG..

I'm not saying don't be proud or even brag on Marshall.. I'm happy Marshall has found success, I've been waiting on it for a few years now..

RE: A Marshall Pattern
Stupid bobkitty fans.

The MAC sucks. Period. We ruled that lame conference from the moment we made the jump in 1997. Since 1997 Marshall is 66-15 (.815) vs the MAC.

Marshall has outscored MAC opponents 2,650 to 1,713 (937) over the last 18 seasons. The average score over that period has been 33-21. Of those 66 wins, 48 of them we're by double digits.

Marshall put the MAC on the national scene. Period.

No team that hangs banners for just appearing in bowl games should talk smack. Congrats you got us when Doc was tearing the team down and rebuilding it.

I get the first MCB. It was our first at the FBS level. However just making a bowl really isn't anything to celebrate.

Still doesn't change the fact we have owned the MAC.

RE: A Marshall Pattern
Granted this thread is A Marshall Pattern but here's a unique Southern Miss football pattern of its 5 championships that started the first year of CUSA in 1996:

1996 Co-champs
1 year later 1997 champs
2 years later 1999 champs
4 years later 2003 champs
8 years later 2011 champs
With this trend we aren't due to win it again until 2027. The trend here for those that might not of figured it out is that the timeframe from one championship to the next is twice as long as the one before.

Would still be 32 fewer seasons than Ohio U's current football championshipless streak as of today. By 2027, Ohio U's championshipless streak would be eligible for full social security benefits.

Here's a fun game we can all play... Place the following headlines in chronological order, starting with the most recent and working backwards.

Ohio Football wins conference championship
Neil Armstrong walks on moon
Nixon resigns presidency
Musical festival to be held at Woodstock, NY
U.S. Constitution amended to set voting age at 18
Star Trek (not Next Generation, not DS9, but classic "Star Trek") airs a new episode

New Voting Age
Woodstock
Neil Armstrong walks
Ohio wins a football championship

RE: A Marshall Pattern
I'd like Ohio to join CUSA. Been hoping for that for years. Look forward to it eventually happening.
