I've seen students wearing crowns in there stands, but they were also wearing a lion costume lol

Having a cannon seems so appropriate for a school like ODU, because it has two ROTC units. I miss the boom too! We need to develop some traditions too. I think Florida State has the best Football entrance with the Indian coming in on a horse and spearing the ground with that flaming arrow! I think we should have a well-trained Lion on the field and have it release a giant roar, striking fear into the visiting team and its fans, right before our team enters the stadium! Now that would be a real crowd pleaser!!

Satchel Ziffer is my little cousin and I follow his career, as the rest of our family does, closely. In the three scrimmages, he went 17-20, 19-20, and 8-8. That combined is 44-48... Over 90%.. That's Brown's first two seasons as a monarch..
Satch went 3-5 2 game winners, 12-12 on Expts and averaged 59.1 yards a kickoff in his sophomore year and first year in D1..

All i'm saying is to give him a chance and maybe he'll surprise you.

Remember.. JB started as a walk-on and took over for the starter too..

How about we cannon-shoot one of the visiting team's fans, or players, into a cage holding a lion which has not been fed for three days. LOL

And, who pray tell, is going to be the person assigned to putting that lion in the cannon!!??

I personally like a Ship's Bell or that"AHHUUGA" diving horn thing from a submarine idea better than the cannon. More Navy related. Someone at the Caravan mentioned using a foghorn. Also like that since the stadium will probably be on the river.

As to the reviewing of upgrades to Foreman Field....Selig gave the impression that doing that was more to actually putting on paper that the costs would far outweigh the benefits for those stll calling for keeping FF..

My only reservation with the ships bell is that our mascot doesn't have any kind of nautical tie-in.

Kind of like when a pro team changes city, and the new city doesn't have the same tie in as the previous location did (i.e. Utah Jazz, LA Lakers). But guess you live with it long enough, it becomes the norm.....

That point can be made against the cannon too. If we want to aim towards a tie in with our mascot we should use a loud lion's roar. I just think a Navy "sound" is more appropriate to being a Navy town. I do think we do need a signature sound.

I'm assuming since the Caravan Tuesday night is at the baseball game, the dress will be casual?
