RE: Verizon and the ACC
ALL of the football NBC $ goes towards funding academic scholarships, why shouldn't the ACCN revenue be the same? If TerryD had to pay a few dollars per month to watch ND baseball, but that $ went to the players, that wouldn't be any B1G deal would it?

I will watch ND sports on an ACC Network if it is on DirecTV and I have no choice.
But, I would rather keep WatchND free or just pay for an Irish Network subscription, if ND began to charge for its content.
I don't want to pay a subscription to an ACC Network that has a bunch of content on it that I don't care to see.
I understand that all current ND content might end up on a subscription ACC Network.
I would pay it because I am forced to, but would not like it nor would I watch anything other than live ND games on it.
I would rather my subscription money go straight to ND, rather than be split up by a bunch of other schools and John Swofford or his kid (to answer Dasville's question).

I think that it would be neat to see a bunch of conference content in one place. Admittedly I don't pay for cable as is, so my opinion counts for $0.

As it is, I watch about 80% of all broadcast ACC football games and 20% of the basketball games. I occasionally watch games on ESPN3 as well.
If there were an ACC Network, I'd get it and watch it.

I'm just not as hardcore on some issues. I really enjoy the ACC and hope to see it thrive(Not saying Terry hates the ACC). If a network is needed to do that then sign me up.

A belated thanks for the welcome. Greatly appreciated. My apologies for the late response, but I don't get on here a lot. As for a side, I'd like to keep an open mind and be as practical as possible. I will say this, the people who point out that the ACC is behind the revenue with respect to the other P5 conferences have valid concerns. I just do not know enough about the individual schools economic models that support the school and their respective Athletic Department. Until such time, I am merely collect data.
Have a good one folks.

I get it TerryD, I'm the same way about the BTN and SECN but as HokieMark pointed out, the ACCDN is totally different from those cable channels.
I think it would be a good idea if the ACCDN could somehow host ALL the ACC team's "WatchND" type channels. I'm thinking more along the lines of away games that you might not be able to see or the odd basketball games on ESPN3. Charge a subscription that gives you access to them all. Power in #'s and raycom can make $ selling adds.
I don't know how many subscribers each of these schools have but most charge $10 a month. Shoot, with a Digital Network it's easy to know how many viewers a game has. Perhaps the teams with the most viewers gets a bigger chunk or split a bigger piece of the pie with whomever they are playing against. This way you can always choose to watch a ND game even if they're on at the same time as someone else and Kaplony would be happy because the teams with the most viewers get paid more and Marge would be happy because Florida State may very well be the most viewed team on the Network. No new rights would even need to be acquired unless you count an ESPN3 basketball game or two.
Seems like a winner if it could be done. Nothing huge, but perhaps another million $ or two for some/everyone.

RE: Verizon and the ACC
If the ACC wants to give FSU a larger payout from this hypothetical ACCN, I'm fine with that. But I have no clue why Dasvile even made that comment based on the discussion leading up to it.
And no sh*t TerryD doesn't want to watch other schools' games. I wouldn't waste my time watching the rest of the ACC filth on tv, ether. I care about FSU. That's it. I don't give a dam about the ACC or conference pride.

I get a real kick reading certain guys posts on the ACC Board telling everyone how much they dont care about the Acc, and how they wouldnt watch any other Acc team unless their team is playing them, and yet, they have thousands of posts on the Acc board discussing Acc issues.

You people actually "care" about the ACC and the other schools in it? TerryD don't. I don't. Seriously, it's weird if you care.
I "care" about Edamame Fart to the extent that it's enjoyable to make fun of him, but I don't particularly care about him, his school, or the conference in which he coaches. It was also enjoyable to make fun of Muschamp, and I can assure you I don't "care" about UF.
EDIT: Hey, wait. Don't you all complain that "FSU fans do nothing but whine about how they hate the ACC"? Now you're saying we do nothing but care for the ACC. INTERDASTING.

Marge if you don't care about the ACC (and hating on it is caring in this sense)...why do you post here and respond to non-FSU fan posts? If you literally have no feelings for the ACC why post here? You should be over at Rivals, Scout, 24/7, or wherever Seminoles hang out....

RE: Verizon and the ACC
I really don't watch other ACC sports teams (including Florida State) unless they are playing ND.
But, I didn't watch other Big East sports teams from 1995-2013 either.
I don't watch Big Ten, SEC, Big 12 or Pac 12 schools unless they are playing ND, either.
So, I am at least consistent. It is nothing personal and I am not "anti-ACC". I am just indifferent.
I really don't expect (and in fact am surprised) anyone to watch ND unless it is playing the school you root for. Why would you? It baffles me.
I don't have any bad feelings for the ACC. I am just not interested in non-ND athletics, including other ACC games.
It is not just an ND thing with me. I watch Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers games, but not games that do not involve them.
I have to pay to get those broadcasts down here in Louisiana. I subscribe to NFL Sunday Ticket and MLB.TV.
I pay for the league coverage (because I have no other choice) but never watch any of the other teams' broadcasts that I receive for my money. No interest.
Those multitude of other game options simply do not exist in my mind. I don't want to spend any of my time watching those other games, even though they are paid for and available to me.
I don't care that they are essentially "free" to me (since in my mind I am paying only for access to the teams I follow), I don't care to watch them.
That is just the price that I am forced to pay to watch the teams I care about. I don't like it one bit, though. I would rather just pay a subscription to those teams alone.
I root for and care about certain teams, not their leagues, other teams or even the sport in general, otherwise.
