Good for Joe! Loved the guy from Day 1.

I have been watching the D-League playoffs to see him in action

Let's see how long before this thread turns ugly.

Why make it a self fulfilling prophecy? It doesn't have to be ugly.

He merely points out the obvious and you should not be surprised.

I get it, but the best way to combat negativity (in my mind) is to accept criticism when it is fair and respectfully debunk it when necessary.

Not sure how JJ balling out can reasonably be construed into a negative.

In fact JJ became a more willing distributor and passer every year. To the point when he was a fairly elite trigger man while still being able to get his. This balance of 'give/take' that all elite PGs have can easily be credited to both the players hard work and the tenor of the teams directed by the coach.

JP takes some very valid criticism, but one thing his teams always do is pass willingly and generously and that is always my #1 favorite thing about the teams we've had under JP.

When JJ got to Memphis, I remember him driving recklessly into traffic, which is a hard way to make money at 5'-10"-ish. Now he is mature player who uses his speed to get to spots and can still drive when necessary while making those around him extremely dangerous.

JJ was one of favorite players in the past few years and he is, by all accounts, an intelligent and hard working young man who is a credit to Memphis.

I only see positives here.

Epic Applause

You should google Joe Jackson dunks on Tarik Black. It's as good as it gets.

Got to see Joe in Austin earlier this year. He had a great game and was really cool when he saw my Memphis hoodie. He came over to say hey and shake my hand during shootaround. I called him King of Memphis and he laughed and said he hadn't heard that in a long time. Good job, Joe.

Wow.

Another one...whee we get another idea that constructive criticism cannot be handled.

Nonsense.

The OP teased out the idea of the abject mocking and trolling style of, er, criticism that so many used, use and will continue to use.

Kudos.

Joe would probably say "the more I practice, the luckier I get." He is a practice machine and it shows. Congratulation.

It was good for Joe to get out of Memphis and concentrate on basketball.
For his entire basketball career he has played in a pressure cooker with great expectations. Now he's just ballin'. I am happy for his success and hope that he makes it to the League.

Yes, he did feel an inordinate amount of pressure here...and overwhelmingly responded positively. 4 NCAAs, conference player of the year, three tourney titles, 2 tourney MVPs, undefeated conference season with thirty plus for the year, two conference season titles, two NCAA advancements, all time top ten Tiger.

Hope to see him get some NBA time next year.

Well earned.

How about turning that query to the ones that seem to ... In every thread they post in...continue to equate actual criticism with the incessant mocking and baiting,

Do that, then we can discuss.
