have to find out who's not coming back? And has he already made some decisions of his own as to who he wants to come back? I would think those things have to be worked out pretty soon.

Would hate to see White leave. But he has given us 4 years. We will find somebody else.

Although very athletically gifted, it appeared to me at times that being at the right place at the right time was a challenge ... On defense, too.

James White coming back or James Reid leaving would definitely be surprises to me.

James Reid leaving is done, He is gone for sure. That's what Josh told me anyway!

Didn't the same thing happen with Will Neighbour? I seem to recall we played better after he was injured. No fault of Will. But when he was playing, it seemed like the others were standing around watching him.

If only we had Will with Coach Beard...

I think it probably had to do with Shields had to scrap his offense of trying to post Will and this year trying to post White. I didn't see many games, but my guess is that allowed perimeter players to have better driving lanes and they shot more perimeter shots.

We still had Gus who gave us some size. Coach Beard will find us a Juco or senior transfer with some size. I assume he's told James W. he wants to know if he is "in" or not. He's not going to wait around to see if he graduates. If he is "out" I also assume we will pull his tutors. We'll see how he does this summer without any help.

If White says "out"' I assume there is not only no obligation to provide tutors, but also no further obligations toward tuition beyond the spring semester. So to graduate, assuming he needs additional hours past this spring semester, White would be getting through the summer on his own.

Interesting. Seems in the past everybody was on Shields case for bringing a kid in and then cutting him loose after 1 or 2 years. Not honoring the commitment to the student athlete for 4 years or til graduation. Now here is White who has given us 4 years of his heart and soul and you are talking about pulling all support academically just because he does not want to play his 5th year. Isn't that a little hypocritical?
