I see that, but I don't see the direct relevance in that thread, to cusa, as this article entails.

There's a realignment board for a reason...

Good for Liberty.

I hope they get a crack at FBS. They have a decent following and would make for a nice addition to the subdivision.

I'll bet they'd take a MAC bid. You're welcome to sponsor them there.

I wouldn't mind a Liberty/JMU combo to the MAC.

1) Allows the MAC to double down in Virginia with two schools that have solid 20k-25k MAC level stadium.

2) With Liberty being a private school they'll recruit more across the South while JMU will focus on the Mid-Atlantic. The schools could recruit well against CUSA.

3) The name Liberty fits with the Mid "American" theme.

4) Liberty/JMU would both be in small markets which is also another MAC theme.

5) Allows the MAC to move the BG/Toledo rivalry to the West Division.

The MAC was talking about bringing JMU/ODU into the MAC before ODU was brought into CUSA. Then it was going to be JMU/UMass. Clearly the MAC is okay with JMU being in the package. Could they warm to Liberty if it appears they could help the MAC enough possibly.

RE: Liberty U. offering Full CoA in bid to take UAB's place
did you see this part of the story:
Barber said. "Our conference (the Big South) has made a commitment to do that for men's and women's basketball, so we were going to be doing that anyway, but the decision was made because our goal is to be a major FBS program one day and this was a necessary step to take to not only show our commitment but show our desire to do that."

If the Big South is going to be doing FCOA, pretty much everyone will be doing FCOA.
