MCLA Lacrosse
Tons of colleges don't have NCAA sanctioned Lacrosse. TXST is one of them. We've been pretty good the past 6-7 years. There are 4 other SBC schools in the MCLA.

Championships start Sunday with TXST as the #1 seed in the Lone Star Alliance, Division 1. Our biggest obstacle is always UT. Been screwed a few times the past few years because of UT but I think we take it this time. We just outplayed UT 2 weeks ago 6-4.

RE: MCLA Lacrosse
Good luck. The MCLA and similar organizations are nice for all those club/non-scholarship teams, true student-athletes. These organizations have brought the competition to an almost varsity feel. I enjoy taking the kids to watch the local schools' club lacrosse and ice hockey teams - for free! I don't recall that things were so well organized when I played lacrosse at App in the 90s before it was cool.

UNT forfeits first round match (4/19) of the Lone Star Alliance championships to TXST. Cats move on to second round (semis); awaiting winner of SMU/LSU. Game will be next weekend.

RE: MCLA Lacrosse
TXST will take on SMU Saturday @ 7PM in Dallas. Beat them in regular season 5-4 but not to be taken lightly.

We played them early before our O clicked and our D was lulled to sleep because they (SMU) weren't playing very well but they also played dirty (per persons that attended the match) and the refs let them get away with several flagrant fouls. Hopefully the tourney officials won't let that happen in the championships. We'll see. We got screwed like that vs UT 2 years ago in the finals. (that were at UT)

That's one hard sport to watch. Like golf. Or field hockey. You gotta love the sport to watch it.

Pretty much but it is huge in the metro ATL area now. I think Mercer has a team now. It appears to be the new alternative to football instead of soccer.

I know this isn't a glamour sport and it's not really a Sun Belt sport but they are repping the Sun Belt. There may be Texas state folks on here that do not go to our home forum. So, as this is a non sanctioned sport, the team is trying to raise some money to help defray the cost of going to Nationals. If you care to contribute:

Yesterday when I posted this they had $1675 towards the 13K they need to get to CA. Right now they have raised $7495. If any of you have contributed I know it is greatly appreciated. TXSTLacrosse is thanking people via Facebook.
